Hi, I'm Sam Lennie and I love designing and decorating properties. Back in my early teens I was the proud owner of a cornflower blue and white bedroom, the walls and furniture fronts were decorated with a pretty toile de jouy wallpaper and I think that was my first appreciation and delight of lovely spaces. When I think back, the first big colour experiment came in the early 90's when we purchased our first home, the cream living area walls were transformed by painting them a deep fuschia pink. Not to everyone's taste I guess, but when we put the house up for sale a couple of years later, it sold within a week.
Then 6 years ago, I project managed the renovation and extension of my current 1920's home. I started out by painting out every room white, but slowly the place is now taking on its identity. I love colour and have a sweet spot for nature, shiny things, statement furniture and quirky, eclectic design. My current penchant is for grey backdrops, the colour appears in various shades on almost every wall in my home - from a smokey to a deep slate grey.
When I'm not helping out my husband with F-Stop Academy and finishing up my design studies with KLC School of Design, I am helping to create exceptional, life enhancing homes for clients with my interior design, styling and decorating service. If you have a room or two that could do with a design overhaul or would like some styling tips or scheme ideas to create a unique and enviable home, just get in touch, I'd love to help make your dreams become reality.
I can be found pouring over the latest home interiors magazines, e-commerce and blog sites, visiting design centres, designer retailers, local antiques markets and second hand shops or... if I'm really lucky, finding inspiration, first hand, in far away lands.
Here in my journal, you'll find my kaleidoscopic collection of design inspirations, finds, thoughts, ideas and real life client projects. I hope that you'll find your own inspiration in what you see here, so enjoy reading.
P.S. if you do enjoy what you see, please share it with friends and leave a comment, as comments make my day :-D
