On Saturday, Mr. L and I went into London for dinner with some friends we hadn't seen in a while. On weekends that we do this, we often decide to stay in town, rather than spending the evening 'clock watching' to make the last train home and then enduring the tedious trudge back into the countryside via tube, train and then taxi ride.
The hotels we secure for our stop over are always last minute reservations. It's Mr. L's challenge to find a deal, trawling the net for luxury accommodation in Central London that we've not stayed in before, just about 2 hours before we start to make the trip to the big smoke. It's literally that last minute and it's really worth holding out because there are always deals to be had on rooms available in the top hotels. This one came with a 50% discount.
The Sanctum Soho is a boutique hotel with an edgy bohemian come rock chic vibe. Owned by music mogul and Embassy nightclub owner Mark Fuller, it's a small converted townhouse tucked just behind Regent Street with just 30 rooms, a roof terrace with 24 hour bar and hot tub and a cinema in the basement.
